A nicely preserved coin with an old patina
A coin of a Saxon king with lasting ties to Poland and Polish rulers. Frederick Augustus was Prince of Warsaw from 1807 to 1815; as the son of the Elector of Saxony Frederick Christian, he was the grandson of King Augustus III of Saxony of Poland, the great-grandson of Augustus II the Strong and, on the distaff side, the great-grandson of John III Sobieski and Queen Marysieńka.
