Nicely preserved gold coin of the father of Alexander of Macedonia (the Great), creator of the beginning of Macedonia's power.

Obverse: head of Apollo in a laurel wreath facing right

reverse: a bundle of thunderbolts, the inscription ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ , below it the head of a lion

gold, weight 0.70 grams, diameter 8.3 mm
