Poland, Second Republic (1918-1939), Woman - Ears, 2 zloty 1925, London mint

variety with a dot after the year

750 silver, weight 9.92 grams

Literature: Fischer OB009, Parchimowicz 109d, Chalupski 2.18.2.b (R)

Piece of a two-dollar coin, with a natural fine patina struck at the US Mint in London to a design by Tadeusz Beyer is the fourth in a series of circulating two-dollar coins of the Second Republic, not among the rare, but still sought after in nice condition. All the 1924-1925 two-zloty coins (made of sterling silver and weighing 10 grams) were minted abroad in our country, in Paris, London, Philadelphia or Birmingham. They differ from each other in small details; London pieces have a dot after the date, American pieces lack it or are bit stamped inverted, Paris pieces have mint marks in the form of a horn and torch on the sides of the date, and those from Birmingham just the letter H placed after the year (the latter are also characterized by a slightly "slimmer" eagle).
