Municipal penny minted in Gdansk for Sigismund I the Old in 1539. PRVS variant.
Coin beautifully preserved.
Obverse: image of the king with crown and cap on his head, in the outer rim legend: ✱SIGIS-I-REX-POLO-DO-TO-PRVS

reverse: coat of arms of the city of Gdańsk and legend: (hooks) GROSSVS-CIVI-GEDANEN1539

silver, weight 2.01 grams, diameter 22.3 mm

Numismatic in nice state of preservation with piercing mint luster. Bust type of a ruler wearing a crown and a cap not filling the inside of the

crown. The crown cap decorated with "pearls". PRVS legend ending. Mint mark "Hooks" as the finial of the reverse legend.
