An early denarius of Sigismund the Old, minted after the 1526 monetary reform, most likely between 1527 and 1529. On the obverse is minted a crown with dashes in the rim, erroneously referred to as "sabers." The dashes are a graphic representation of the back of the crown visible through the surround. On the sides of the crown are minted the letterers S - P which is an abbreviation of SIGISMVNDVS PRIMVS (Sigismund the First). The coin comes in an envelope with a description of the legend, diameter and weight, as well as the characteristic features of the coin.
