EXTREMELY RARE COIN!!!!
obverse: crowned shields of arms with Eagle and Pogo, below them Leliwa coat of arms
reverse: at the top the coin's face value I, below it the shield of the Batorych coat of arms, on the sides of which the date 8-2, below it the letters M.D.L and two leaves
Silver, catalog weight approx. 0.35 grams, diameter 13 mm

Today, the denarii that the Vilna mint minted in 1581-1582 under Treasurer Jan Janowicz Hlebowicz (1580-1586) are among the extremely rare coins. Due to their low value, they were minted at the end of the reign of King Stefan Batory in small numbers. Only one piece (the same one twice in WCN's 2016 and 2020 auctions) appears in the available online searches, so one can risk the claim that this fine coin was not known among collectors, and could be seen practically only in museums, and only a few of them.
Treasurer of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (1580-1586) Jan Janowicz Hlebowicz, coat of arms Leliwa, castellan of Trakai (1585-1586) and then governor of Trakai in 1586-1590, also in previous years governor of Minsk, starosta of Upland and Radoszkowice, confirmed the election of the first electoral king Henry III Valesa. Subsequently, he was a member of the General Confederation formed on March 7, 1587, deputy of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania at the Convocation Sejm in 1587 and signatory of the Treaty of Bytom-Bedzin.
